OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City RedHawks and Devon Energy have teamed up for the Devon Energy Hometown Heroes Celebration Night on Saturday, August 13 to recognize local service men and women and their families.
“Military families are a special part of the Oklahoma City community,” RedHawks President and General Manager Michael Byrnes said. “We are honored to partner with Devon Energy to recognize and celebrate those protecting our freedom along with the families who support them.”
Prior to the game, fans can enjoy demonstrations from different military branches, tours of military vehicles, military challenges, and recruiting information in front of the ballpark beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Other events will happen on the field just prior to or during the game, including a swearing-in ceremony of new recruits, recognition of each military branch and a welcome for service men and women returning from deployment.
Colonel Bob LaBrutta, 72nd Air Base Wing and Installation Commander, Tinker Air Force Base, will be in attendance. Colonel LaBrutta will be throwing out the first pitch, welcoming home service men and women returning from deployment and addressing the crowd.
