Express Rally for 6-2 Win over RedHawks

Oklahoma City, Okla. – Tommy Manzella’s three-for-three night was spoiled as the Round Rock Express (9-4) used two different three-run innings to overtake the Oklahoma City RedHawks (4-8) in a 6-2 final before 3,410 Tuesday night at RedHawks Field at Bricktown.
Neil Ramirez (2-0) allowed one unearned run with two hits, three walks and nine strikeouts over five innings in the winning decision. Sergio Perez (0-2) took the loss, allowing six runs, five earned, with seven hits over four innings of work.
Oklahoma City took the first inning lead when Tommy Manzella singled, stole second base, moved to third on an error and scored on a second throwing error for a 1-0 lead.
Round Rock gained the lead for good in the second inning, scoring three runs against Perez. Chad Tracy, Matt Kata and Luis Cruz hit consecutive singles, and scored on a Taylor Teagarden bases loaded walk and a two-run double from Craig Gentry for a 3-1 Round Rock lead.
The Express added three more runs in the fourth inning. Luis Cruz singled and later scored on a Perez wild pitch for a 4-1 score. Esteban German and Endy Chavez later singled home runs to open a 6-1 lead.
In the ninth inning Anderson Hernandez tripled and scored on a Collin Delome groundout, cutting the Round Rock lead to 6-2.
